Family Friendly Banana Berry Oat Smoothie

Family-friendly, fuss-free, and nutrient-packed this smoothie is perfect for busy mornings or as a quick, one-handed snack. Its also a great way to get the kids involved in the kitchen let them add the ingredients or press the button on the blender. 

Notes: customisable, source of calcium, fibre rich, packed with nutrients swap to plant based milk and yoghurt to make it dairy free or drop the nut butter if you have an allergy.

Ingredients

  • 1 large banana

  • 1 cup frozen mixed berries 

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats

  • 1 tbsp nut butter (almond, cashew, ABC spread or peanut)

  • 1 cup milk of choice (cow’s, oat, almond, or soy)

  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt or plant-based yogurt 

  • 1 tsp honey or maple syrup (note: do not add honey if you are serving to littleones under 12 months of age)

Method

  1. Add all ingredients to a blender.

  2. Blend on high until smooth.

  3. adjust sweetness if needed.

  4. Pour into cups and serve.

    TIP: If you have leftovers pour it iceblock mould and freeze for a snack.
